Gooooood afternoon everyone 👋 ,
There were a few big (and some small) stories that dropped last week in the world of work and the workplace.
I hope to do roundups like this each week so that you can stay in the loop 🔁.
Onto the update!
🌎 JLL launches a flexible office network
JLLiquidspace?
Combining the networks of LiquidSpace and DeskPass, two flex desk networks, to give JLL customers one app to go-to for all things flex, Workspace OnDemand.
Last year CBRE took a significant position in Industrious, who had a pretty significant footprint, to supercharge their flexible office offering, Hana.
41% of tenants expect to increase their use of flex space as part of a post-pandemic work strategy
With many teams likely pulling back on office space, flex space is poised to take on a larger role for Real Estate teams from here on out.
💰 OfficeSpace nabs $150m investment
More PE action in the workplace world, this from the Vista Equity Endeavor fund.
“Vista’s Endeavor Fund focuses on mission-critical, high-growth enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses with $10 million to $30 million in annual recurring revenue”
It seems Vista and Thoma Bravo both see upside with the IWMS focused tools. The shakeup in how companies manage their space (and how much they spend) is an opportunity.
📖 LinkedIn’s hybrid how-to's
While a few months old, this is still one of the best posts I have read about a company leaning into a more flexible way of working.
Rather than fly somewhere to convene in a hotel, LinkedIn’s own campuses could be the destinations. The Omaha office, for example, with amenities that will include a golf simulator and cutting-edge hybrid meeting spaces, may offer a better experience than a windowless conference room in a random hotel convention space.
The whole article is well worth a read.
🦉 Owl Labs: State of Remote Work v5
A beautiful report that is LOADED with stats and findings around the impact of remote work, especially around how people view the office.
🔍 Google Meet adds more conference room analytics
Occupancy counting (via video conferencing hardware) can now tell you how many people were in the room and also trigger canceling no-show meetings.
As offices see climbing traffic, meeting rooms will become more competitive.
